In 2012, I led a monumental corporate website project – the establishment of Huawei’s European website, www.huawei.eu. Over the course of several months, we meticulously constructed a digital platform that conveyed Huawei’s ethos and innovations to our European audience, focusing primarily on five content pillars – Digital Agenda, Research & Innovation, Trade & Competition, Cyber Security, and Sustainable Development.
Our mission was to engage with EU stakeholders on these critical aspects, creating a site that was not just user-friendly and visually appealing, but also rich in relevant and impactful content. We began by conducting thorough user experience (UX) research and wireframing, designing a structure that facilitated easy navigation and content accessibility.
Simultaneously, we dived into user interface (UI) design, crafting a visual identity that resonated with Huawei’s brand. We adopted a clean, professional look, with a harmonious color palette and legible typography that enhanced the overall user experience.
Content and messaging development was a collaborative process involving various teams within Huawei. We sought to ensure that the information across the five content pillars was comprehensive, accurate, and engaging, presenting a cohesive narrative that underscored Huawei’s dedication to innovation, digital advancement, and customer-centricity.
After months of unwavering commitment and strenuous efforts, www.huawei.eu came to fruition. It was more than just a completed project; it was a testament to Huawei’s dedication to connecting with our European stakeholders and contributing meaningfully to Europe’s digital journey.
